TA Rugs is an independent rug research blog. We test rug advice, study materials, and write practical guides for people buying rugs for real homes — not showrooms or staged photo sets.
The site was built out of frustration with generic rug content that tells you to “measure the space” without explaining what actually makes a rug work in a room. Every article here tries to be the resource I wished I could find when I was figuring it out myself.
Who writes this
My name is Taylor. I’ve spent years researching rugs for real living situations — comparing materials, tracking how different fibers hold up over time, studying manufacturer specs, and talking to people who work in the rug trade to check my thinking against on-the-ground experience.
I’m not an interior designer or a rug retailer. I don’t represent any brands. My interest is purely practical: I wanted to understand what actually separates a rug worth buying from one that looks good in photos but disappoints in real life. After going through that process for myself, I started writing it down so others wouldn’t have to.
How this site researches and writes
Every guide on TA Rugs follows the same process: I identify what questions real buyers are asking, dig into the material science and construction standards behind the topic, compare what manufacturers claim against independent reports and long-term owner experiences, and write what I actually conclude — not a summary of what other websites already say.
When I make a product recommendation, it’s based on comparing specs, materials, and real-world feedback across dozens of options. I look at construction quality (pile density, backing type, fiber twist), washing durability, and whether the product performs consistently over time — not just out of the box. When I’m uncertain about something, I say so.
Articles are reviewed for accuracy before publication and updated when better information becomes available. If you spot an error or a claim that needs revisiting, please get in touch — I take corrections seriously.
